Yunnan Craft Collaboration & Custom Handmade Pieces

Connect & Collaborate
Some pieces begin before they are made.
Yuntopia moves across three interconnected layers—where craft, culture, and contemporary life meet.
✦ 1. Objects
We create a considered collection of handmade pieces—from embroidery, handwoven textiles, to bamboo weaving.
Some begin as raw textiles. Some take form as objects to live with.
Each piece is shaped by traditional techniques, often made in small quantities, or existing only once.
✦ 2. Collaboration
We work with brands, institutions, and individuals to develop projects rooted in Yunnan’s craft traditions.
This may take different forms:
• Brand collaborations and limited collections
• Personal commissions shaped for specific spaces
• Retail partnerships with curated stores
• Cultural and exhibition-based projects
From sourcing materials to connecting with artisans, from shaping ideas to realizing them in form—we act as a bridge between local knowledge and contemporary ways of making and living.
✦ 3. Curation
Beyond objects, we work with stories.
Through image, text, and space, we document and present craft as something living—shaped by time, place, and people.
This includes:
• Visual and narrative storytelling
• Craft documentation and editorial work
• Exhibitions and cultural projects
✦ Custom Pieces
Each piece begins with a conversation.
We work with embroidery, rug weaving, brocade, , bamboo weaving, and other textile traditions from Yunnan—approaching each request individually, with respect for both the craft and its process.
Not every idea can be realized, but we will carefully consider what may be possible.
✦ Process
- Inquiry: Share your idea, reference, or intention.
- Conversation: We explore materials, techniques, and context together.
- Direction: A possible approach is proposed—along with timeframe and estimate.
- Making: The piece is created by hand, in its own time.
- Completion: Prepared and delivered to you.
✦ Time & Expectation
Custom work takes time.
Depending on materials and techniques, most pieces require 2–3 months or longer.
Each piece is made by hand. Variations in color, texture, and detail are not imperfections, but traces of how it came into being.
