Evolving Quiet begins with vintage cloth, which is naturally re-dyed and rewoven into a new textile. Its colors move between deep indigo, softened purple, slate, and pale blue, creating a surface that feels layered rather than uniform.

The name reflects this process of renewal — not simply preserving what came before, but allowing the material to take on a new expression.

The surface is defined by subtle shifts in color and texture. Deep blues meet lighter, softened tones, moving across the weave in an irregular, almost landscape-like composition.

Each tea mat has its own arrangement of colors and patterns. Though they share a similar palette, no two pieces are exactly alike.

The textile begins with vintage cloth, which is newly dyed using plant-based pigments. After dyeing, the material is cut into fragments and rewoven through a reinterpretation of the traditional Handwoven Rag Weave technique.

Through this process, existing textile material is transformed into a new woven surface. Variations in color, tone, and composition are part of the making process, giving each piece its own character.

Designed for tea moments and everyday pauses, this tea mat offers a grounded surface for a teapot, teacup, or other small objects.
