Pink threads rise in gentle rows — a rare sprouting grain motif, hand-stitched and held close. A crossbody pouch for tender hopes.

✦ The slow glance

A gentle emergence, carried stitch by stitch.

This bag is made from Yao ethnic embroidery, crafted by the Uyem branch artisans. Its delicate gradient—from deep rose to soft pink—echoes the first growth of rice seedlings from the soil, rising slowly, a symbol of life and continuity. Pink-toned rice-seedling embroidery like this is rarely seen, making this piece especially distinctive.

The fabric reflects the rhythm of fields and seasons, the origin of life in the Yao people’s traditional slash-and-burn cultivation.

Two artisans worked side by side to complete this piece, each bringing a different part of the process into balance—pattern construction, structure, and finishing. Threads move quietly through their hands, with a focus that comes only from long familiarity with the work.

The bag features an adjustable shoulder strap, allowing it to be worn crossbody or on the shoulder. The length can be easily adjusted through the silver side buckles, offering different ways of carrying depending on your day.

The straps are woven with Yao silk on a traditional waist loom, thread by thread, taking days of patient labor—not machine-made. The embroidery continues across both sides, preserving the full richness of the textile from every angle.

A small detail rests at the zipper: a hand-stitched floral charm, quietly echoing the language of the embroidery itself.

Lightweight and spacious enough for daily essentials, this bag carries not only what you need, but also the continuity of handwork across generations.

Each piece is one of a kind.

✦ About Vintage Textiles

The fabrics in this bag are not newly produced. They carry natural variations: irregular stitching, softened fibers, subtle color shifts, and traces of previous use.

These are not flaws—they are the character of handmade, time-worn materials.

✦ Disclaimer

Each piece is one of a kind. Colors, patterns, and embroidery placement may vary slightly due to the handmade nature of the materials and differences in display settings.

✦ Why Each Piece Is Limited

This bag is made from vintage Yao textiles, originally created for ceremonial wear—not for mass production.

The Yao have no written script. For centuries, their stories have been carried not in books, but in thread. Every triangle, every eight-petal flower, every stitch is part of an unwritten language—recording memory, movement, and belief.

Each piece was stitched from memory, passed from generation to generation. Because every textile comes from a different garment, region, and maker, no two pieces can ever be exactly the same.

This is not limitation as scarcity—but as honesty.
A way of preserving living culture, one stitch at a time.
