In the mountains of Southwest China, flowers appear everywhere in Yi embroidery. Not as decoration, but as a way of seeing the world. Among the Yi people, there is a saying:
“Flowers do not bloom for others to admire. They grow from the heart.”
Each flower carries its own spirit. Some are bold, some quiet. Some open fully, while others seem to linger between blossom and seed. For generations, Yi women have stitched these flowers into clothing, baby carriers, and household textiles. Through needle and thread, they record beauty not as something distant, but as something lived with every day.
This calendar brings twelve embroidered flowers into the year — one for each month, one for each season of becoming.

Instead of copying patterns or using commercial machines, each piece is individually embroidered by Yi artisans using traditional hand-embroidery techniques passed down through generations.
Our team travels directly to these minority communities, hand-selecting and collaborating with local craftswomen to bring these designs to life. The process is slow. Every stitch is placed by hand. Every flower emerges gradually, thread by thread. Because of this dedication to slow fashion, production is naturally limited.
