Not all cloth carries time in the same way.

Some pieces hold what has been. Others begin again.

This is one that has been reworked—through dye, through hand, through process.

✦ The material

The surface of this tea mat is made from rewoven textile, created after vintage cloth is newly dyed using plant-based pigments.

Deep blues meet softened purples, with quiet shifts between tones—indigo, slate, and pale blue moving through the weave.

The color is not flat. It gathers, fades, and deepens across the surface—like something shaped slowly, rather than applied.

✦ A second life in color

Unlike untreated vintage textiles, this cloth has been given a new layer of transformation.

Through natural dyeing, the material absorbs color unevenly—responding to fiber, tension, and time.

What emerges is not uniform, but layered.

Not aged, but evolving.

✦ The making

After dyeing, the textile is cut, reworked, and woven again using a reinterpretation of the traditional Liezhi (rug weave) technique.

Fragments are brought together, structures rebuilt, and a new surface formed.

Each piece follows a shared palette—but no composition is ever the same.

✦ Made into a tea mat

The textile is shaped into a simple, grounded form.

A surface for a teapot, a cup, a book, a pause.

Balanced between softness and structure, it carries both the memory of material
and the clarity of a newly formed object.

✦ In use

Place it on a table.
Let the shifting tones settle into the space.

It absorbs light differently throughout the day—
sometimes darker, sometimes lifted.

Quiet, but not static.

✦ Dimensions

• Length: 39 cm
• Width: 24 cm
• Thickness: approx. 0.4 cm

A compact, grounded surface—layered in color, steady in use.

✦ One of a kind

Each piece is shaped through dye and weaving.

Color, tone, and composition vary—no two are ever identical.

Once chosen, it exists only in that form.
