Some cloth carries more than pattern.
It carries use.
It carries time.
It carries the quiet marks of having been lived with.
✦ The material
This tea mat is made from vintage Liezhi textile—a traditional rug-woven fabric from Yunnan.
Originally created through a process of cutting, reweaving, and reconstructing cloth, rug-woven fabric was born from necessity. Materials were not discarded, but reformed—layer by layer, thread by thread.
The deep blue surface holds a quiet depth—at times like a night sky, at times like water seen from afar.
Over time, the color has softened. Edges loosen slightly. Tones settle into something more muted, more lived-in.
What remains is not perfection, but presence.
✦ Signs of time
This is not new cloth.
Fading, irregular textures, and subtle variations are part of the material itself. They are not added. They are what time has left behind.
Each piece carries its own rhythm—no two are ever the same.
✦ Made into a tea mat
The textile is carefully selected, restored, and stitched together with natural cotton and indigo-dyed fabric.
Its form is simple: a grounded surface for a teapot, a cup, a small pause in the day.
Not an object to display, but one to live with.
✦ In use
Place it on a table. Let the surface hold warmth, weight, and movement.
The weave absorbs small spills, softens sound, and settles quietly into daily rituals.
It does not ask for attention.
It stays.
✦ Dimensions
• Length: 42 cm
• Width: 26 cm
• Thickness: approx. 0.4 cm
A compact, grounded surface—light in form, yet steady in use.
✦ One of a kind
Each mat is made from a unique section of vintage textile.
There is only one. And once it is gone, it does not return in the same way again.
